There
are many ways to protect our pets. The most important, is food.
Processed pet food is very dangerous for
your pet. You are providing a chemical feast to your pet when you feed
it the meat and bone meal in pet foods. I am certain at some time you
have noticed a change in your dog or cat after feeding him or her different
batches of the same brand of pet food. Your pet may have diarrhea, increased
flatulence, a dull hair coat, intermittent vomiting, or may scratch more
often. These are the most common symptoms that
are all associated with commercial pet foods.
In the absence of any government inspection programs or any rules and
regulations on standards and origins of the ingredients in these foods,
my recommendation would be to feed your pets only food that you would
eat, such as scraps from the table or from the butcher.

Here are some quick and easy suggestions.
BASE INGREDIENTS:
Oatmeal, Fiber and cancer deterrent.
Bread, Nutritious and filling.
Rice, anti-aging, and nutritious.
Egg, Protein and contributes to healthy, shiny coat.
Scraps from your meal, and cereal.
Once a week, cook a large pot of rice.
Store in the refrigerator for a base mix of your pet food.
Oatmeal can be used uncooked. It supplies fiber.
Bread, can be several days old. Plain or toasted, break into small pieces.
Egg can be used raw. Simply break a raw egg over the food.
Years ago farmers worried about animals getting into the hen house.
They love raw egg, and it is healthy for them.
Simply mix one or more of the base products with meal leftovers.
When you eat out, always get a doggy bag.
When there are no leftovers, you can always mix one or more of your base
products together, or with soup, cereal, bullion, leftover gravy, ect.
Obtain scraps from a butcher. Be creative. Dogs are scavengers.
Cats:
Kitties can be picky about what they
eat.
I buy seafood for my kitties. A bag of whiting is $3.98, it lasts two
weeks.
That is cheaper than commercial cat food. Simply thaw and cut into pieces.
For a variety, cook seafood with rice and butter.
Save raw meat from trimming steak and roasts. Your cat will love it.
One can of salmon cooked with rice or oatmeal and butter. Cool and mix
two raw eggs and refrigerate. Depending on how many cats you have, this
will feed three cats for a week. Be creative, cats are predators.
Danger
Bone
Never feed chicken or pork bones, to your pets. Such as pork chops or
chicken legs. These bones splinter, and can cause serious injury to their
throat, stomach, and intestines.
